4th of July Camping with the Suttons!

We went camping in Steamboat Springs for the 4th of July. We went with some friends of ours (Matt & Annie) and their little 4 month old baby girl, Lydia. We had a great time!
This is our campsite...the best one....right on the river!

We hiked around Fishcreek Falls.

We found a trail that led us to the top of the waterfall. It was a beautiful view! A little scary being that close to it.

Annie had no fear. There is a huge drop-off right on the other side of the rock. Matt had Lydia in a baby carrier and he would go right up to the edge and look over...I was more nervous about it than Annie!!

Lydia and I became good friends!

Johnny Spalane (Olympic Silver Medalist) was there competing in some rollar race. Not sure if this was even him, but he was there!

The boys did the upper part of the river. Lost of rapids. They had good weather until the last 1/2 mile or so. Then we had a small storm pass through. Very windy and rainy.

Neil is a pro!

We let the storm pass through and then Neil and I took a turn on the lower half of the river. Much more relaxing and not so many rapids.


We finally got Neil to hold Lydia by the end of the weekend! She was so happy!

We love Steamboat Springs! We already made our reservations for next year!!
